Sony Ericsson W580i and W980i: Two Sizzling Phones

Sony Ericsson is the mobile manufacturer that has lured the mobile lovers since the first phone was launched by this company. Many innovative handsets have been introduced in the recent times and all of them are having great demand globally. The Walkman series handsets are popular for their music qualities. These devices can produce amazing sound quality that will make the users to forget about other music devices.
The recent inclusions in W-series phones are the W980i and the W580i. Both of these handsets are having great features and facilities which attract the customers. If one compares Sony Ericsson W580i with Sony Ericsson W980i, he or she can find that a number of features are similar between them. A detailed comparison between the two phones is given below.
Structure : The dimensions of Sony Ericsson W580i are 99 x 47 x 14 mm and its weight is just 94 grams. Sony Ericsson W980i is 92 x 46 x17 mm in size and its weight is 100 grams which is relatively a little more than the W580i.
Colour: The available colours of the W580i are style white, urban grey, metro pink, boulevard black and jungle green. The W980i phone is available only in piano black colour as of now.
Screen & Camera: The W580i has a 2 inch TFT screen that can show the images of up to 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The TFT display of the W980i is 2.2 inch in size and it can show the same quality pictures. However, the camera capability is different in both the handsets. Sony Ericsson W580i is equipped with a 2 mega pixel camera whereas Sony Ericsson w980i is added with a 3.15 mega pixel camera. The other value added features like auto focus, zoom, and Carl Zeiss lens are available in both the devices.
Memory: This is the key feature for comparing Sony Ericsson W580i and Sony Ericsson W980i as there is a huge difference in terms of internal memory space of the two phones. The first one has just 12 MB storage space whereas the later one has got huge internal memory of 8 GB. One can store a large number of songs and other data in this mammoth embedded memory.
Internet connectivity: Both the handsets have GPRS and EDGE technologies which provide the smooth web connectivity to the users. However, the W980 is basically a 3G phone that gives fast data transmission speed so that users could download games & songs, send or receive other heavy files and upload the videos to different online websites. Bluetooth compatibility is common in both the gadgets.
Talk time: The W580i gives talk time up to 9 hours and standby time up to 370 hours. On the other hand, talk time on the W980i is same but the standby time is up to only 300 hours.
Music player: A powerful music player supporting all popular file formats is available in both handsets. Some of the extra features which have been added in the W980i are stereo speakers, music sharing facility, FM transmitter, TrackID music recognition and the front facing Walkman keys.
Overall, both Sony Ericsson W580i and Sony Ericsson W980i are great quality mobile phones. Users can select their choices depending on their requirements and budget. These handsets are outselling the other brands available in the music phones category.
