The Sony Ericsson S500i looks exquisitely beautiful and is designed in a sleek shape. This handset weighs light and has a dimension of 99.0 x 47.0 x 14.0 mm. This handset is available in a myriad of colours that include mysterious green, ice purple, contrasted copper and yellow. The phone functions with connectivity options such as GSM 850, EDGE, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900.
The TFT display screen and the control buttons lie on the upper slide of the phone. The keypad is placed on the lower slide and gets revealed as the upper slide moves up. The handset has a 2 MP camera and you can use it to click photos with 4x digital zoom. You can also use it for the purpose of video recording. Everything that you record can later be viewed on the TFT screen of the handset. The screen display pictures at a resolution of 240x320 pixels and supports 262, 144 colours. The phone has a whopping 12MB memory with memory stick Micro support that can hold a card of up to 2GB. So, now you can download and store ring-tones and games that require large memory space. Playing these games is real fun with the active support of the TFT screen. The set weighs 94g and so it becomes very easy to carry the handset anywhere you go.

Many innovative handsets have been introduced in the recent times and all of them are having great demand globally. The Walkman series handsets are popular for their music qualities. The recent inclusions in W-series phones are the W980i and the W580i. Both of these handsets are having great features and facilities which attract the customers. If one compares Sony Ericsson W580i with Sony Ericsson W980i, he or she can find that a number of features are similar between them. A detailed comparison between the two phones is given below.
